We are doing a fair bit of travelling this week – Even more than usual. As expected I cannot go anywhere without a bag full of snacks to nibble – I’m even worse when I’m not driving, which happily Mr C is. We are dropping Miss M off in Aldershot (218 miles away) but first we have to go to Leeds twice (66 miles away). Oh and yes, we need to come back in-between and then pick her up at the end of the week. Just a lazy half term, eh?
I discovered these Spicy Cocoa Pecans and knew they would be perfect – I love how adaptable these are – You can omit the cayenne for a completely sweet snack or if you are really brave, double the cayenne for super spicy. I scaled down the original recipe as there will only be me & Mr C eating these.
My partner for this month’s swap is Jane from The Heritage Cook. Now I know I say it every month, but this blog blew me away. There is so much on there – recipes in their hundreds (I’ve not counted but I bet there is), there’s recommended books (I’ve already got some of them – can we be friends?) and even advice on software and cameras to use for blogging.

Gosh — these sounds absolutely delicious!!! They remind me of the hot pecans that you sometimes see on markets!! I absolutely LOVE those!! Would be amazing to make some of my own!!! Thanks for sharing 🙂

Ooh yum! I’ve been eating hazelnuts as an afternoon snack which have been great, but I really like the idea of trying out some different varieties with a topping – and always wondered how they got it to stick. Lovely recipe!
I sometimes find hazelnuts a little hard to eat many of all in one go so these mixed nuts seemed just perfect. The egg white trick was a brilliant idea!
I like the addition of cayenne. I bet these were addicting.
