Hi I’m Helen, the Mum of the Casa Costello gang. We are a family of 5 from the North West, UK, consisting of me, Dermot and the 3 gorgeous girls, Millie (22), Violet (18) and Tara (14).

Hi, I’m Helen – welcome to Casa Costello!
I’m a passionate home baker, mum of three girls, and the creator behind this space where I share Baking – Recipes – Real Life.
Casa Costello is all about keeping things simple, delicious, and family-friendly.
From quick midweek meals to easy cakes, traybakes, biscuits and more – every recipe is tested in our busy kitchen (usually with someone asking if they can lick the spoon!).
I started Casa Costello back in 2008 as a way to document my cake decorating journey. Over the years, it’s evolved with our family – these days, you’ll find fewer showstoppers and more recipes that fit into everyday life.
A Little More About Me
I live in the North West UK with my husband and our three daughters – life is loud, fun, and always full of food!
I’ve baked thousands of cakes over the years – from birthday centrepieces to humble sponge trays. These days, I’m all about bakes that are tasty, light, and easy to whip up.
We’re currently on a mission to visit all 238 RNLI lifeboat stations across the UK & Ireland – one family adventure at a time!
I also run Aardvark Cakes, our self-service Cake Cupboard where locals can pick up homemade bakes and treats (yes, there’s an honesty box – and yes, it works!).

Dermot
Seriously the best Dad ever to our girls. He gets up at 4am to drive 60+ miles to Leeds for Millie’s training, puts a full days work in (He’s a Barber) then goes running with Violet & kicks about with Tara. He loves a glass of red at the end of that and has been known to be a bit of a clean freak.
Millie
Millie is our glamorous teen. About to start her A levels in the autumn. Confident and outgoing. Millie is an athlete on the Senior & Junior GB Team for Synchronised Swimming. She travels the world (with us behind her) competing and training. Millie is happy to review sports wear and is looking to work with sponsors.
Violet
Violet is the friendliest teen you will ever meet. Sporty and arty, she loves to run several times a week and finds 5 miles EASY! Violet is desperate to work with animals when she is older and adores our cat, Alan.
Tara
And finally, our football mad youngest. The curly bossy one of the family who would play football and swim every minute of the day if we would let her.
