Muppets Christening Cake
Well here is my Cake of the Week – a very special one as it is my daughter, Tara’s christening cake from last week. I know its not a traditional christening cake but we don’t do traditional in this house. My elder daughters both had tv themes for their christening cake. Millie had The Mr Men and Violet had Fifi and the Flowertots.
Each of the figures was made using a creme egg for the body (a mini mars bar or milky way would have done just as well for some of the squarer figures). Kermit was really hard and Miss Piggy took forever!
The Fozzie Bear cake topper was really fun to make. I used chocolate fondant icing and snipped his fur with tiny scissors.
If you have read any of my previous posts this week, you will know I am running a link up for fellow cake lovers to post a pic of their Cake of the Week. It doesn’t have to be massive, it can just be one that you are proud of, enjoyed making or perhaps has got a story behind it. If we all visit each other’s Cake of the Week, it would be great – if you have time to comment even better!

Now THAT is amazing!
This is outstanding. I’d love a fun cake like this.
What an incredible looking cake! Bravo. My kids would adore this. Love how you’ve got the photos in a slideshow. What a beautiful site.
Thank you everyone – We are currently enjoying munching our way through the enormous bottom tier – god help my hips!
Wow love this cake and love your cake of the week idea. I recently started cake decorating due to my boys birthdays, over the years I have really got into it and it is now a real hobby. Little Man’s christening cake was an incy wincy spider theme & Mini Man’s was The Cow Jumped Over the Moon.
Ps I would love to follow your blog but no one knows I blog so I don’t link to blogs through my Facebook page, is there another way to follow you?
Hi thank you for your fabulous comments – how interesting that people don’t know you blog – I’ve only just ‘come out’ in the blogging sense in the past few weeks. The response has been so much better than I thought it would be. If you click on subscribe at the top that won’t go through to your Facebook page or if you like the Facebook page it will just come up as you and won’t link to your blog. Thanks – looking forward to reading more if your instalments x
