As we are shortly to be celebrating Mother’s Day (or Mothering Sunday if you are more traditional), I thought I would create a post for those of us looking for Mother’s Day food gifts. I do love to receive food gifts on Mother’s Day and this selection includes some lovely gifts that any Mum would love!

Like most Mums, I love that Mother’s Day encourages us to spend time with each other. My Mum always comments about the juggling act of wanting to see my own Mum but also that my kids want to treat me on Mother’s Day. Aren’t I lucky to have that situation?
Most restaurants are advertising special meals for families this Sunday. Look out for extra special offers for Mums. Our local Chinese restaurant does free meals for Mums on Mothering Sunday – Grandmas included.

The Family Gathering
Over the years we have occasionally decided against eating out on Mother’s Day, in favour of all getting together instead. As there is so many of us when you consider siblings and cousins, we tend to opt for easy to make in bulk dishes such as curries and casseroles. We find it really easy to cater for our vegan family member with this Chickpea and Lentil Curry.
Obviously, the most important part of any family celebration is the dessert – Mum loves a homemade cake so often the simple chocolate drip cake comes out – A favourite with all the family!
We find that with so many of us the Google Smart speaker provides great entertainment. As a family, we are not known for our cool music taste but that provides more of a laugh when we all get a turn choosing a song. When looking for recipes for Mother’s Day the speaker comes into its own too!

Mother’s Day Food Gifts
I love the element of surprise for Mother’s Day gifts. I tend not to ask my Mum what she wants (Its her birthday not long after so she gets to ask for specific gifts then) so I can choose slightly off piste gifts for Mother’s Day. I also totally choose things I would like too – Doesn’t everyone?
Francois Doucet Confectionery Chest
This Francois Doucet Confectionery Chest is such a special Mother’s Day gift. Once the sweet treats (8 different types of chocolate covered nuts and fruit jellies) in each of the little drawers have been eaten, you can keep the chest which would make a beautiful jewellery box.

Francois Doucet is a French confectionery company who has been making exceptional pralines, jellies and chocolate treats for over 50 years. They are inspired by Provençale flavours and cook their confections with nuts and fruits from Provence. The star of the show is Francois Doucet’s almond praline, which uses a recipe that is over three centuries old.

The Confectionery Chest can be bought at SousChef.co.uk where FREE delivery is available for products over £60.
RRP £79.99.

Sparkling Tea from Saicho
My Mum isn’t a huge alcohol drinker so this set of sparkling teas from Saicho are a lovely alternative. They come in beautiful presentation bottles in a range of three flavours – Jasmine, Darjeeling and Hojicha.
The set of 3 mini Luxurious Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Teas (which at 200ml per bottle do not feel that mini) retail at £14.99.

Chocolatier Bundle
Saicho have also provided a Chocolate bundle suitable for pairing up with the Sparkling Teas. Cleverly colour coded so you know which chocolate goes best with each tea, this is a lovely luxurious gift.

Premium Organic Honey Selection
Honey heaven have produced a special gift set which comes in a delightful Jute bag containing three different types of honey. This would have been perfect for my Mother-in-law who absolutely adored honey – although she might have had to fight me for that super cute spoon that comes with it.

Porcelain Coffee Filter and Porcelain Jug
For the coffee lovers, this smart Melitta Filter and Porcelain Jug set looks really stylish. Available in a number of colours, we chose the black to accompany our existing coffee cups. The set enables the coffee to be prepared to its best, either serving two cups at once or a very generous serving for one!
Previously retailing at £29.99, this is now reduced at a price of £15.00.
