How have I never thought of making Falutas before? We tend to have tortilla wraps in the bread bin as standby for when the bread runs out so these were super easy to prepare. I like my Secret Recipe Club recipes to use ingredients that we mostly already have in, otherwise it feels like making a recipe just for the sake of it.
I love the thought of taking these Falutas on picnics – They would make a welcome change from sandwiches and would be really easy to transport.
As my partner for this month, Amy from Savory Moments, says, the possibilities for fillings for these are endless. M&S are currently selling a much smaller Mexican version, using corn tortillas for an extortionate price. Amy’s own version was a Turkey, Spinach & Cheese Faluta – I’ve amended mine as we had chicken that needed using up.
I am amazed that Amy has any time or energy left for cooking or blogging at the moment – Amy is due twins any time now. I am so excited to hear when they arrive and really hope she posts pictures!
