Cake of the Week is back from its summer holidays! Hope everyone had a good one and is raring to go back with the baking.
Here is my cake of the week – A joint Engagement and Emigration cake. The Groom (are you called that once you get engaged?) is from Melbourne and the couple emigrate at the end of September. They weren’t going to have an engagement party but seeing as most of their friends won’t be at the wedding next year, changed their mind. I met Tori’s mum yesterday when I delivered the cake and she was lovely. It seemed a bit of a bittersweet celebration for her though as she is nervous about her daughter emigrating. They were expecting a live link-up from Melbourne at the Engagement party which I thought was a fab idea.
I really liked the look of the black and white with lots of glitter to brighten it up – The balls use loads of icing but are so much quicker to make than the malteser balls I have previously used on this cake.

Unfortunately I can’t match the very high standard above but have linked up a giant cupcake I made for my friends birthday. x
Wow! Am so in awe of this cake. Stunning ๐
