I need to start this post with a huge thank you to everyone who submitted their bakes to Bake of the Week during the past year. I know I say it fairly regularly but I am honestly really chuffed that you do. I love looking back at all your entries and find the baking talent amongst us so incredible. I’m hoping Bake of the Week will continue to become stronger and stronger during the next year. The roundups are a killer to complete but so worthwhile – I hope you enjoy visiting each other’s bakes and get inspiration for your next creations.
I’m going to start with a couple of my favourite own bakes but really the point of this post is to celebrate your entries.
My 3 favourite bakes were Ginger Oat Creams, Bacon, Onion & Basil Quiche and Mississippi Mud Cake with Raspberry Italian Meringue Buttercream. All very rich and so enjoyable to bake and eat!
And so to my Top 10 entries from the past year – Apologies to those people not featured. It was so hard to decide between all your fantastic creations.
In top spot, we have Domestic Gothess with her amazing Chocolate Blackberry Gothic Halloween Cake. This is the cake that I wish I could claim as my own – The one that springs to mind whenever I think back on previous Bakes of the Week. Hannah also deserves a special mention as the blogger to submit entries for the most weeks during 2015. Thank you Hannah!
In second place we have Patisserie Makes Perfect’s beautifully neat Fraisier Cake.
3rd place goes to Winnie with her 3 Flavour Layer Cake in Vanilla, Chocolate & Caramel. It has been lovely to get to know Winnie during the past year – I really enjoy the variety of her bakes.
I love that Bake of the Week has introduced me to so many new bloggers – Only Crumbs Remain at Number 4 is a blog that I now revisit over and over. I love the colour of these Barm Brack Blackberry Iced Fingers.
5. I’m a sucker for a good cheesecake and if it contains Amaretto, even better! Love the depth of Giraffes Can Bakes’ Apricot Cheesecake with Amaretto Caramel.
Eileen from ET Speaks From Home also deserves a special mention as the blogger to submit the most recipes during 2015 – Her Vanilla & White Chocolate Choux Buns are my number 6!
7. Black Forest may be retro but its still one of my faves. I loved Andrea from Made with Pink’s Black Forest Cake.
I just love the styling of this Raspberry & White Chocolate Cake from Hijacked by Twins. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know Kirsty better this year and hopefully we’ll meet up again during 2016! My number 8 favourite!
At number 9, I have My Little Italian Kitchen who has had a tremendous Year – I’ve loved how many savoury entries we have had into Bake of the Week and this Olive and Peppers Focaccia is a stunning bake.
My number 10 is from the most recent Bake of the Week and a newcomer to the Bake of the Week gang, Baking with Granny brings us her Terry’s Chocolate Orange Cupcakes.
So that’s the Bake of the Week End of Year roundup for 2015. Once again, huge smothering kisses and thanks to everyone who took part – I look forward to more tasty, baking goodness during 2016. Don’t forget the current linky is open for a few more days – Click here for the link.
Happy New Year Everyone – Enjoy the celebrations! xxx
