Its a sure sign that winter is on its way when the black boots come out. My trusty black knee high boots are a trusty companion during the winter months. Unfortunately my current pair were looking a bit battered and well loved but I wasn’t giving up without a fight. You see, I’m fairly well endowed when it comes to the size of my calves – Not so wide that I need wide fittings but wide enough that its always been quite hard to get just the right fit.
I was recently invited to the grand opening of the Hotter store in Leeds City Centre – It was on a training night so even better, I had some company en route! Gutted to have missed the Calendar Girls earlier that day but they had a spectacle of sunflowers left in their honour. Now on their 70th Hotter store, it was a pleasure to be back and join other bloggers as we oohed and aahed over the winter collection. (You may remember my visit earlier last year when I admired the spring collection)
I was delighted to be offered a chance to choose some new shoes or boots and like a lot of the other bloggers at the event, headed straight for the black winter boots collection. A tiny bit apprehensive, I was about to test the width of those calves but I needn’t have worried – they have a fabulous elastic back that runs right the way up the boot, which comfortably hugs your legs. They are not ‘wide fitting’ but are stretchy enough to go over skinny jeans. Perfect!
I waited a couple of days for them to arrive and quite frankly, haven’t had them off since. I’ve traipsed around Liverpool and Leeds in them, driven short distances (because I don’t want to ruin them) and they are so comfy. Highly recommended!
The Briony Boots come in 2 colours, Black & Brown and are £150.
Disclosure: I was given a pair of Briony boots to review. All opinions are my own and honest.
