When I first started blogging, it was all about cakes. As time has gone on and more children arrived (Hello Tara!), I want to use my internet space to record what we get up to as a family. Its fair to say that the weekend often passes in a blur – There’s plenty of travelling with synchro, dance lessons and other activities. What I don’t want to do is look back in years to come & have forgotten the childrens’ younger years. Already, I sense that they are growing up far too quickly – As I type, Millie is sitting her Mock GCSE’s.
So every Monday I will be sharing snippets of our weekend. Sometimes there will be special occasions to share, often there will be homework and family visits. I’d like to invite anyone else who would like to share their weekends to join in too. Totally fulfils my nosy side to find out what everyone else gets up to! If anyone else joins in, I will gladly share your posts & feature in a roundup.
A special mention for people that work shifts too. I remember all too well when my Fri/Sat/Sun shifts fell just as everyone else seemed to be finishing for the weekend. If your weekend isn’t a Fri/Sat or Sunday, then just share what you did on whatever day you class as your weekend.
Your post doesn’t have to only be about what you did at the weekend. If you made something, sat on the sofa and drank tea, read an amazing book – Share it with us!
So what was this weekend?
Another long journey on Friday night down to Bristol. Unusually I was driving which totally backfired due to motorway closures. 4 hours later, Millie & I arrived at yet another Premier Inn. Saturday was a day of working for Mr C & dance rehearsals for V & T. After arriving home from Bristol on Saturday night, there was definitely no energy for partying for us – A glass of wine on the sofa & a fairly early night.
The highlight of our weekend was the Liverpool Santa Dash. Violet has got into her running big time this year, thanks to being involved with Run With George campaign. We laughed so much at both Vi & Dermot in their Santas but the sight of approx. 8K Santas walking through the streets of Liverpool was so impressive.
The atmosphere was terrific – so friendly and even the December weather warmed up for us spectators.
We took loads of video footage so take a look at our vlog of the morning:
