Well its that time of year again when we all hit the travel agents and pore over the travel brochures. I honestly have no idea where we will end up this year – I know we say this EVERY year! Our caravan is still in the South of France but we really felt like a change this year. Millie is likely to be competing in Hungary (& maybe Israel & maybe Sweden) so she gets to explore new horizons but who knows where we will end up. We do so much driving every week (120 mile round trip 5 times per week to training in Leeds) that the thought of us all hopping in the car, driving to Biarritz isn’t all that appealing.
Our trouble as usual,is there are 5 of us! To make it even worse, one of us will be 14 this summer – classed as an adult. We don’t want masses of kids clubs but our holiday needs to be interesting enough for the girls. Pretty safe to say wherever we end up will involve a pool but for now we are stumped and staying firmly put where we are! The problem of there being 5 of us was the inspiration behind my second blog, 2 Adults 3 Children – We are on a mission to find places and people that cater for 5!
You may remember me talking about Getting Adventurous with Glorious Soups back in November – Their new line of worldwide flavours are set to transport us around the world, providing us with a taste test fit for any traveller.
We’ve tested out some of GLORIOUS! Fresh Meal Soups over the Christmas break – Mr C thoroughly enjoyed his Moroccan Spiced Chicken Soup and we both shared the Tuscan Chicken & Orzo flavours. Both were really filling and tasty – Exactly as they should be, a meal in a bowl. I really like the texture of pasta and grains in a soup and the Orzo was a great addition.
More world flavours in soup form can be found over on the GLORIOUS! website.
I know I started this post lamenting our lack of travel plans but we are really quite simple folk when it comes to travel – We like our accommodation to be clean and modern, the food to be exactly as we imagine it (One of the downfalls of being a cook & food blogger is that so often we come across food on our travels that we could have made better ourselves) and to be quite frank, can do without annoying people. Perhaps we are safer staying at home!
Who needs to actually go travelling when you can get the experience through soup? Tomorrow it looks like we are going to West Africa!
Disclosure: We were sent a selection of GLORIOUS soups for the purpose of this review and we asked to give an honest account of our thoughts. Post written in conjunction with Foodies100 & GLORIOUS Soups.
